Abstract

Introduction :Political theorists usually base the validity of their opinions about politics on an understanding of human nature. In this way, political theorizing has been closely related to political thinkers' understanding of what constitutes ultimate perfection and the highest good of man. With this theoretical basis, the present article will explain the theory of human happiness from the perspective of the Holy Quran and then examine its implications for political theory. In the meantime, individual and social happiness is considered the most important goal for theories that have adopted a divine and religious approach in political theorizing. Accordingly, the present article aims to explain the political and social extension of the theory of happiness as one of the most important anthropological topics.

Methods: In this study, relying on the thematic interpretation method of the Holy Quran, an attempt is made to present a coherent understanding of the theory of human happiness and ultimate and final perfection from the perspective of the Holy Quran. Then, the implications and results of this issue for political theory will be explained.

Results and discussion: The theory of human happiness from the perspective of the Holy Quran has been emphasized in various verses. Receiving divine mercy, testing man, and servitude and divine nearness are the most important goals emphasized in the Quran. What is emphasized in verse 56 of Surah Adh-Dhariyat expresses a comprehensive theory about human happiness, which is servitude to God.This ultimate goal has specific results and implications for political theory. Every political theory includes an understanding of human happiness and supports and protects a specific form of human life and happiness. In this sense, the theory of servitude centered on human happiness in the Holy Quran has specific implications for the political theory approved by the Quran. Its first implication is that it determines the goal of the state. The goal or goals of the state are the most important component of any understanding of the state. The legitimacy of the state, the identity of the rulers, and the manner of exercising political authority,as the main components of any theory of the state, are all determined based on their relationship with the goal of the state. The state must determine and implement the rules of social life based on the characteristics and characteristics that determine human happiness.Another implication of the theory of happiness intended by the Quran for political theory is the negation of secularism, meaning that the distinction between the realm of religion and the realm of politics is in conflict with human nature and unjustified. The necessity of the political leadership of the infallible Imam (AS) in a religious political society is another result of the servitude-based understanding of happiness. The political leadership of the infallibles means that political authority must be realized through the leadership of the infallible Imam(AS),who is at the highest level of servitude and divine proximity.

Conclusions:The theory of happiness centered on servitude both justifies the state and its legitimacy and determines the main purpose of the state as its most important component. The distinction between the realm of religion and the realm of politics, which is considered the theoretical basis of secularism, is an unjustified distinction and in conflict with human nature, considering the theory of happiness that is obtained from servitude to God and obedience to divine commands. Also, the leadership of the path towards divine proximity and servitude to God must be carried out by the infallible Imam (AS).The political leadership of the infallibles means that political authority must be in the hands of those who are at the highest level of servitude and divine proximity.
