Dr. Ali Shariati's research in political thought has at least a 40-year history. The result of this exploration is the emergence of different and sometimes contradictory opinions about this Iranian thinker. The relationship between tradition and modernity, Sharia's effort to combine the two, achieving a new model and establishing an ideal society on the basis of that model, is one of the issues that formed the foundation of Sharia's thought. The main question of his research is as follows: What is the most important Sharia reason for creating a dialogue between tradition and modernity, and what was the result of this effort? Apparently, due to the alienation of the people of the third world, Sharia sought to create a dialogue between tradition and modernity. The article intends to analyze the validity of this hypothesis by describing and analyzing Shari'a thought and using the historical-sociological method and based on Spriggans' crisis theory. His research studies show that Shariat, by presenting the discourses of Islamic Protestantism and returning to himself, sought to create an alignment between tradition and modernity, although he was not very successful in achieving this goal.
